Another way of achieving an effect like reverse assembly is to swage one of the leaves all the way across to the other side of the pin.

In a swaged for reverse assembly operation, one hinge leaf will be swaged to the opposite side of the pin to closely resemble a true reverse assembly.

This operation is faster and less expensive than reverse assembly because it can be performed in one operation, and there is no waste.

However, the opening angle is slightly smaller, and the curl loses a small degree of strength in the operation.
