We can supply most pins cut to lengths down to 1.00" and for some sizes, even shorter. The saw cutting operation cuts pins neatly and cleanly but most applications call for a chamfer on one or both of the pin ends.

This chamferring process entails grinding down a little of the pin end around the entire pin edge so it is smoother and has a smaller diameter for ease in inserting into a hinge. The typical angle for the chamfer is 45° but that can also be specified.

All of our Mil Spec pins will automatically be cut and chamfered, but for commercial needs, please specify if you require a chamfer.
