Embossing

Torsion spring legs usually lay flat on the surface of the hinge leaves, but sometimes the mounting of the hinge is such that the spring legs might be in the way. If the spring leg happens to be on the same side of the leaf that will be touching the mounted surface, we can do an operation called an emboss where the leaves are deformed to form a channel where the spring leg will sit. This operation allows for the spring leg to lay within the channel, and sit below the surface plane of the leaf.
