Springs : Loaded to close
Torsion springs can be added to a hinge to assist in pushing the leaves together, otherwise known as spring-loading the hinge to close, or "loaded to close."
It is very important to know the direction that the spring legs will push the leaves in relation to how the hinge leaves are mounted. Spring-loaded-to-close hinges are not always used to close a door.
For example, both of these spring hinges are "loaded to close", yet depending on how they are mounted, the hinges can open or close a door.
