Which operation do you need to do on your hinge leaves to fit your application? First, we can discuss what each term means. Swaging typically describes pushing the leaf or leaves of a hinge towards the barrel. Or in this picture, Up. Offset typically describes pushing the leaf or leaves away from the barrel. Or in this picture, Down. Depending on the space or gap you require between the leaves, you may want to consider which operation is needed and can be done as a custom operation on many styles of hinges.
