Hinges and Hardware 101 - Compression Spring Catch and Strike Sets
Standard catch and strikes securely pull down to keep a lid or cover in the closed position, but some applications require more strength in the closure. Sometimes insulation or gasketing needs the catch to come closer, so compression spring catches are your answer. They give a little more so extra space can be overcome to achieve a tighter closure.
